Game of Thrones War For Westeros: If there is one thing that unites cine lovers all across the world, it is perhaps the ultra-popular HBO series Game of Thrones. From its well-written characters, remarkable dialogues to all the unforgettable era of dragons and Westeros, GoT is one of the world’s most watched TV shows. And much to the joy of its fans, a new video game based on the world of Game of Thrones is in the works!

Game of Thrones: War for Westeros video game has been officially announced and is slated for release soon. PlaySide Studios made the announcement at Summer Game Fest 2025, revealing that the game new real-time strategy game is set in the dramatic universe of the HBO Original Drama Series Game of Thrones.

As the name itself suggests, the game would take players across the world of Westeros where they will fight for the Iron Throne! Set to be released for PC, Got War For Westeros real-time strategy game will allow players to control major houses or the Night King. They can join battles that include infantry, cavalry, siege weapons, giants and dragons.

“Take command of one of the Great Houses - or the Night King himself - as you set out to conquer the Seven Kingdoms solo, or in exciting and challenging free-for-all multiplayer. Players will lead the forces of House Stark, House Lannister, House Targaryen, or the Night King, rally iconic heroes, and rewrite the fate of the realm.”

According to the game director Ryan McMohan, players would step into Westeros at its most dangerous, get to call their banners and rewrite the fate of the 7 kingdoms. You won’t just be commanding armies, you will be commanding a world shaped by legacy, the trail and the fight to claim the iron throne.

You will fight battles across Westeros, from the frozen North to the gates of King’s Landing. Deploy infantry, cavalry, siege engines, giants and dragons to push through the enemy lines or hold your own, McMohan added. “In War for Westeros, you will relive iconic turning points from the Game of Thrones series or forge your own rise to power. The outcome is yours to decide.”

The real-time strategy game will release on Steam.
